Hope for Haiti Benefit Auction
Hertzog Homestead Event Venue is the proud sponsor of the Hope for Haiti Benefit Auction, which occurs on the third Saturday of May annually. The next auction will be held on Saturday, May 20th, 2023 and is open to the public.
What makes this auction unique and different from any other charity-run auction is that it is an ecumenical effort between the Amish the conservative horse and buggy Mennonites, regular Mennonites and others within our local community. Together, we work towards a common goal: to help Haitians without opportunities to gain education and employment skills and move towards a life of self-sustainability.
The auction is the perfect place to bid on Amish quilts, sheds, gorgeous plants, quality garden tools, handyman power tools, all-weather Adirondack chairs, wooden rockers, stunning flowers, quality used furniture and much, much more. There are also gift certificates to local restaurants and customized experience packages. With over 100 volunteers and about 1,000 people who attend the auction, delicious food is in abundance! Savory toasted cheeseburgers, Amish-made barbeque chicken, fresh fruit smoothies, french fries, delicious home-made pies, hand-dipped ice cream and a plethora of baked goods are for sale.
100% of the proceeds goes directly to education and job training programs in Haiti. We invite you to join us and enjoy a unique experience surrounded by Amish, horse and buggy Mennonites, and our local community who believe in giving those without opportunity a hand up, not a hand out.
