Weddings at the Hertzog Homestead
The Hertzog Homestead Bed and Breakfast, in conjunction with Simply Events Inc., is proud to open its doors as an Event Venue, able to host weddings, receptions, anniversaries, showers, and more. Over the past years, we have hosted a few weddings for friends and neighbors and benefit events from concerts in our 1765 bank barn to auctions in our meadows. Now, due to the nearing completion of our expansion and renovations to the barn, we can seasonally host weddings.
Events in our barn have always looked beautiful. The soaring ceiling is lined with cedar shingles from the early 1800s, the tobacco rafters and pegged framing is exposed, and the gable walls freshly pointed. Between the two threshing floors and the two hay mows, our barn can seat 120 comfortably with a dance floor; up to 150 without. The barn, inside and out, contains picturesque photo opportunities for those perfect wedding shots.
But do not be limited to the barn, weather permitting we have had lawn weddings and receptions. We have hosted showers and teas in our 1760s Homestead house. We will be offering some of those same opportunities in our Carriage House Suites opening in late November.
In fact, if a bride and groom book an event with us, the Carriage House Suites not only provides lodging for out of town guests but also can be converted into a Bridal Suite where the bridal party prepares for the wedding and can freshen up.
